HARDGUARD is an extremely hard, laminated bi-metallic chrome-moly white iron bonded onto mild-steel backing plate manufactured in a wide array of shapes and sizes.
Are you looking for toughness? HARDGUARD bonding shear strength is over 30,500 psi (or 210 Mpa) and will not separate. Our rigid post-bonding heat treatment process ensures each HARDGUARD block have a finely dispersed microstructure with ultra-consistent properties. Our minimum alloy hardness of 63 HRC delivers maximum abrasion protection, while the mild-steel backing plate absorbs high impact, with easy installation.
These durable HARDGUARD wear blocks are quality-tested and regularly subjected to thorough chemical, microstructure, visual, hardness, ultrasonic and destructive examinations. These wear blocks are ideal for applications in working temperatures up to 572 ºF (300 ºC).
In addition to our wide array of shapes and sizes, HARDGUARD blocks can be custom designed to your exact specifications.
HARDGUARD’s cloth like cladding comprised of fine tungsten carbide particles suspended in a nickel matrix that is adhered to high wear components of nearly any geometry. Our proprietary “infiltration brazing” process creates a metallurgical bond between the tungsten carbide and the substrate to deliver the ultimate level of wear resistance. The tungsten carbide filled cladding offers the utmost resistance to abrasion, corrosion and erosion due to the small particles used in the cloth.
